Chabad Hebrew Academy is a distribution spot for Fire Relief. Please bring your donations to the school at 10785 Pomerado Road, in Scripps Ranch and they will be distributed to the appropriate places. For any further information, please call the school at 858-566-1996.
This is what is needed: Sifters, Shovels, Hoes, Gloves, Pillows, Blankets, Toiletries, Household Items, Linens, Towels, Snack Food, Wheel Barrows, Kids Toys—new or GENTLY used. Backpacks—new. Cleaning supplies, Diapers, Wipes, Laundry Baskets, First Aid Supplies, Canned Foods, Can openers.

* Beth El will be holding an event for children tomorrow (and possibly Thursday and Friday), from 10-2, in our community hall. This is NOT a drop-off, so parents will need to supervise. But we will still need volunteer to staff to keep order (especially teenagers) (per Rabbi Graubart) .
* This week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday there will be a children's program at Chabad Center of University City, 3813 Governor Drive, from 10 - 12, with a free lunch served, sponsored by Chabad Center of UC and Chabad Hebrew Academy. All Children are invited to participate.Volunteers are needed to run the program and set up the rooms (starting 9 a.m.). Please contact Rabbi Leider at 858-455-1670 or his cell number if you can volunteer. (No need to call if you want to bring your children).
* We will be opening the doors of Soille Hebrew Day School tomorrow, Wednesday October 24, 2007 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. for parents and children to come for a safe place to play. We have good air quality in the building and the air conditioning will be on. This will be a great opportunity to let the kids shake off some of their cabin fever and for them to see their friends. Also, it will be a nice way for parents to reconnect. The activities currently planned are:Indoor PE with our physical education teacher Ms. DawsonA bite of Jewish learning with Rabbi Weiser Movies Preschool activities.
Please feel free to invite your friends from the Jewish community. You are welcome to bring a dairy lunch. Water will be provided by Hebrew Day. Please note, tomorrow's activity day will NOT be a drop off opportunity. Children must be accompanied by a parent. (per Beth Licha)

We will be available to receive donations tomorrow from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. of the following items: Non-perishable foods. Items specifically requested are:

As we all wait and pray for the wildfires to be reined under control and our hearts are drawn to those who are so acutely affected by this crisis, there are ways to help. Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, October 23, 2007 from 9:00-11:00 a.m., volunteers in the Beth Jacob social hall will be collecting donations to be brought to the Qualcomm Stadium evacuation shelter. A list of items requested for donation are:

Bedding- including blankets and pillows
Non-perishable, easy to open and eat food
Baby items- including diapers, wipes, baby food, formula, etc...
Children's toys and stuffed animals
Antibacterial hand gel and wipes
Toilet paper and facial tissues
Wheelchairs, canes and walkers
